Learn About Off-the-Track Thoroughbreds from Their New Owners After Racing

This site was created to tell the true stories of former race horses who have now moved onto second careers as sport horses. The stories are written by their new owners in their words. These off-the-track Thoroughbreds are family horses and show horses.
These Thoroughbreds are ridden in English tack and Western tack. They compete in dressage, combined training/eventing, hunter/jumper and some are just pleasure horses enjoyed by children, adults and grandparents.

Tucks St. Aly and Our Spotlight Stories Page

May2009

Elizabeth,

I am finally sending, attached, the story of my finding and following the website for the years before I met y’all and Aly. It turned out much longer than I was planning, but it does cover almost 4 years in a brief bit of writing. I am really not sure if I did exactly what you wanted me to do in telling how I followed the website; I hope I did. Feel free to cut what you want, or arrange it or use it however you like. I meant very heartfeltly all that I said in it and if it gives you even the littlest bit of encouragement in keeping up the horse business that I know is tough for you I would be happy that it did just that, even if you were the only one to ever read it.

Also, I attached a pic of the red ribbon, so you could see where it is hung, at the foot of my bed, til I can put it in better glory in my tack room =P.

I have to run and ride my Aly Dawling while there’s still daylight.

Love y’all lots,
Alex & Aly

The stories about the people who purchase our horses are as exciting as the horses’ stories. Alex and Aly’s story encouraged me to add a new menu for these wonderful “Spotlight Stories”. Click on the Spotlight Stories Menu above and choose a horse. Enjoy! – Elizabeth
