My Home for a Covered Riding Ring!

What Carmac thinks about indoor riding rings. Click here to see more photos of former Prospect Horse For Sale - Carmac.

Well all I have to say is I wish I had a covered arena!! Between the work and weather I have had a hard time with any consistency with “Mac” (Carmac). This being said I’ve decided to do what little I can on nice days that the footing is not horrible and just continue with groundwork in the meantime.

Carmac crossties like a pro now.

He is doing great, he crossties like a pro now and is just as beautiful as ever and I have discovered that he has a friend. The barn cat, Sally Sue, and he are great buddies!

It is crazy busy here with Christmas, work and nasty weather! “Mac” and I have made great progress on many areas and really have gotten to know one another, but I can’t wait until spring to make even more.

Thanksgiving Greetings from Carmac

Carmac aka “Mac” is still doing great. He had a small puncture wound under his jaw that abscessed so has been on antibiotics for the past week and it is healing nicely now, yuck! Other than that he is wonderful! :-)

Why Ride in a Car when You can Ride a CarMAC?

Carmac is still doing great! I am continuing his lunging and the side reins and he is getting better and better everyday. I haven’t gotten any good pictures, as it’s hard to take pictures while lunging a horse at the same time, must work on my timing.

Anyway my mother did come out one afternoon and I did actually decide to sit on him! He was GREAT! He stood at the mounting block and then we just walked around in circles and worked on some bending and halts…very quick session but pleasant experience for both of us! My mother brought the camera but low and behold the battery was dead as a doornail – my luck.

This weekend, weather permitting, I plan to ride again and this time I will make sure there is a camera! I am still in awe every time I see my horse at how gorgeous he is…I’m smitten!!

Proceeding Slowly is a Positive Experience for Carmac

I still have not sat on Carmac yet. I am taking things slow and trying to do this correctly. I started lunging him in side reins this weekend so that he can get used to contact and he is doing great! I have him doing transitions and even some stretching on the lunge line. I will make sure to get pictures of my first ride and don’t think it will be too long before I sit on him!

New OTTB mom, Morgan is pleased that Carmac has arrived at his new home in Mississippi.

Carmac is wonderful!!! He is exactly what I expected and more…I am so excited, he is gorgeous a beautiful mover and has the cutest personality.

Everyone was so helpful in the transaction of Carmac’s purchase; Mark was wonderful to answer any questions and arranging all of the shipping, Dr. Schilling was great, as well very specific and thorough, with the pre-purchase exam. I was completely satisfied and he made sure to have me very involved in the entire process. I actually felt as though I was standing there watching. And last but not least thank you so much for all of your help, advice and knowledge, you have been great!!

I am getting Carmac settled into his new home in Mississippi at the barn as well as myself seeing as how I have not been riding for the past few years. Slowly but surely I’m getting more and more organized.

Since his arrival we have only been doing ground work and lunging, taking it slowly and getting to know each other. Thank you so much for helping bring this beautiful animal into my life. I am so excited about the adventure Carmac and I are about to begin!!

This was his Prospect Horse FOR SALE information:

“Mac” is a 2005 16.1+ hand (and growing) chestnut Thoroughbred gelding. He is athletic and well balanced with a very good stride. He covers the ground in a beautiful manner. He has been off the track a short time and he already knows his lead changes and goes right to the jumps in excellent form. He is very brave yet very smart and careful. This is the kind of horse that has the possibility to excel to the highest levels with the correct training. He is a kind horse with a personality that will make you smile. “Mac” has no vices, no blemishes and he is unraced and properly raised. He showed no talent as a racehorse and his breeders do not want to see this well-bred horse running at the bottom. He is a grandson of Seattle Slew’s best son, A.P. Indy. “Mac’s” sire sold at Keeneland for over a million dollars! “Mac” is well bred, unraced, over 16 hands and just three! What a package!
