Just wanted you to know that Shamuuu arrived in fine shape. He was quiet and happy when he got off the trailer even though he’d been on for a long time. I let him hang out in his stall awhile on solid ground, gave him a little snack, then I gave him a quick bath to knock the dust off. He was so good, stood very well, all the while quietly checking out his new surroundings.
Then I turned him out with two other grays, out of the 15 horses here about seven are gray. After some “get to know you moments” everyone was happy, no squealing or kicking, just smelling and looking. Then they all took off to the grass and made a few rounds back through the paddock area very quickly, Shamuuu was the winner. As I left them they were headed through the trees to the pasture grass, and everyone was being a friend.
Getting another horse has been such a personal goal for me since I sold my one and only 15 years ago to go to college. I have since completed my Masters and always promised myself I would get another one when I could. Well that time is now; I couldn’t sleep at all last week, like I was a child waiting on Santa! Thank you so much for everything, and please know how much I have appreciated everyone’s help in making this happen. I’m so excited for our future!
